Hope Without Boundaries
Providing meals, volunteer labor, financial aid and support to local charitable organizations in the poorest parts of Tijuana, Mexico.
We support, in various parts of Tijuana:
El Refugio, home for the homeless
Camino Vivo, boys and girls club
Campo de Fe, hospice
Carretas, community center and school
School uniform funding and Education programs
Others as opportunities arise
Twenty minutes drive from the border, a home for approximately 100 to 160 homeless aged, infirm and/or mentally sick with no where else to go, served by some of the most caring and dedicated local volunteers one could ever meet. El Refugio is visited by HwB volunteers on the morning of the second Saturday of every month. Food is delivered and breakfast cooked and served. From time to time we hear comments from the occasional English speaker (perhaps a deportee) such as “this is the first decent meal we’ve had in two weeks”.
Campo de Fe
A hospice for 12 to 18 patients, situated about 30 minutes drive south of the border, is visited most Tuesdays to provide nursing care, comfort, companionship and to share food.
School uniform and Education programs
While schooling is free in Mexico, uniforms, which are required, are not free. Many parents do not have money to spare. Hope without Boundaries, with the support of generous donors, distributes funds to allow these children to get the required clothes. In addition, we have funded specific professional training programs.
